Modelling and Simulating Strategies for Micromobility Modes

Among various new mobility services coming up to cater the public needs for urban travel, Micromobility (MM) has been a front runner. The introduction of e-scooter sharing services has affected the way people move and choose to travel within a city. With this in mind the goal of this thesis to create a modelling framework that realistically model demand for such sharing services. Such framework could eventually help in understanding the mode choice and impacts it causes on other modes when there is a change in the service. Accordingly, different policies could be recommended for the city and sharing service so that the service can be useful to the public to its maximum potential.

To accomplish this goal, the inhouse MATSim model for the city of Hannover is used. The model is extended to MM sharing services (especially e-scooters). Other openly available data like the e-scooter trip data, spatial data and public transport data are used
